An attractive mahogany brass bound wine cooler or jardinière on flared supports. Retaining original shoes and casters. Very good overall condition.

Wine-coolers and Cellarettes were widely used from the 18th century & throughout the 19th century for chilling wine. They tend to be wooden, often mahogany or oak strengthened with brass bands to the outer edge, and lead-lined with a bung to release melted ice.
